GRP Guinness World Record Certificate 40 coasters
GRP Guinness World Record Certificate 40 coasters
I was part of a team that set a Guinness World Record for the highest number of different roller coasters ridden within 24 hours. In our case, the 24 hours started at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk in Santa Cruz, California on October 14, 2000 and finished at Six Flags Magic Mountain in Valencia, California after riding 40 different roller coasters. The previous record of 29 coasters was broken on Magic Mountain’s Revolution. We ran out of additional coasters upon hitting 40. The reference to Mission, Kansas was because the management company for the American Coaster Enthusiasts was located there at that time. Our Guinness record attempt was the subject of a documentary shown on the Discovery Channel.
This copy of our Guinness World Record certificate was displayed at Six Flags Magic Mountain in the Magic of the Mountain interactive museum atop the park’s Sky Tower. The museum was later removed but eventually reappeared in another form. However, for a number of years now, the park has closed the Sky Tower to public access. NOTE: We all signed this certificate prior to presenting it to the park. However, I removed the signatures in Photoshop because I didn’t feel comfortable posting the signatures online.
